Terms & Conditions
Last updated 30 July 2026. This is a free, non-commercial guide. There is nothing to buy, no account to create and no subscription — so these terms are short.
01 — UseUsing this site
You may read, print and share these pages freely. Reading the site implies acceptance of the terms below. Published as Neusiok Trail Guide.
Nothing here is sold and no payment is ever requested. If a page ever appears to ask you for money or for card details, it is not this site — please report it to [email protected].
02 — SafetyThis is information, not safety advice
The routes described here cross remote, low-lying coastal forest and inland woodland. Conditions change with weather, season and storm damage. Water sources dry up. Boardwalks fail. Sections close.
Descriptions on this site are a starting point for planning, not a substitute for current forest-service information, a proper map, or your own judgement on the day. You are responsible for your own safety and preparation, including water, navigation, weather and hunting-season awareness. If the information here conflicts with signage or a ranger, believe them.
03 — AccuracyAccuracy and known limits
This guide is compiled in good faith from forest-service sources and hiker reports, and it states its own limits where they exist. Two worth repeating:
- Mileages are approximate. Current signage and older printed maps disagree by up to half a mile in places. Figures here follow current signage.
- The Uwharrie map sheets are historical scans preserved from the original site. They do not reflect reroutes made since they were drawn.
Corrections are welcome — see the contact page.
04 — LicenceReusing the text and graphics
The infographics may be reproduced — on a website, in a newsletter, in a club publication — provided you credit Neusiok Trail Guide and link to the page you took them from. That is exactly what the "Embed this graphic" block beneath each one provides, and no separate permission is needed.
The written text and photographs are not licensed for republication. Quoting a short passage with a link is fine and normal; copying a page wholesale is not. If you want to reproduce something more substantial, ask — the answer is often yes.
05 — Third partyThird-party material
The three Uwharrie map sheets are USDA Forest Service material, preserved here at their original addresses. They were not produced by this site, and works of the United States federal government are generally not subject to copyright protection in the United States.
This site is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the USDA Forest Service, the North Carolina Forest Service, or any other agency. Agency names are used descriptively only.
06 — LiabilityLiability and governing law
This guide is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Neusiok Trail Guide accepts no liability for loss, injury or damage arising from reliance on the information here, or from following any link away from it.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are governed by the law of the operator's jurisdiction. Questions: [email protected].
