Trail Markings.....
The trail is well blazed (marked) by two methods, with rectangular aluminum strips nailed to trees about 5 to 6 feet off the ground and solid white painted circles. These different blazes may be found on the same tree or by themselves. The rectangular strips indicate the Neusiok trail and the White circles indicate that this trail is part of the North Carolina Mountain to the Seas trail system. If you can not see a blaze then you are probably off the trail. If you do not see a blaze in the direction you are hiking, then stop and look behind you. If you still do not see a blaze then you are probably off the trail.
There are signs whenever the trail crosses a highway. The trail also crosses some fire breaks/access roads and you may have to spend a few seconds finding where the trail picks up again on the other side
